ABOUT US:
The Department of Economics was established in the year 1968. In the beginning Economics was taught as a Major Subject. It was being taught as optional Subject from Jun 1992 under the curriculum of K.U, Dharwad. It was being taught as optional subject under modified curriculum of semester system from June 2005. From 2010-11 onwards the curriculum Affiliated by the Rani Channamma university Belagavi.

MISSION:
“To Motivate the knowledge of Economics among the Students to become Socially responsible graduates”.
OBJECTIVES:
- To Make the Students well-versed with Indian Economic Problems measures and Prospectus.
- To Understand the Economic Planning and Banking activities.
- To Understand the RBI Policies and Union Budget.
- To Prepare the Students to set up and manage the Small Scale Industries.
- To Make the Students to Understand the Various Economic Problems.

B.A Course:-
- The students of Economics in Arts Programm is able to get the knowledge of statistical tools used in the analysis of data and the graphical, descriptive representation data.
- To prepare the students to get employement in Industries as well as Government sector.
- To know how to solve the basic Economic Problems.
- To Know how to conduct socio and economic research and projects.
- To Know the understanding of Indian Economic system.

- To understand the growth of Indian Economy and World Economy.
