DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS
ABOUT US:
Only education can help the young rural generation to become the responsible citizens of this nation. It empowers individuals with awareness about the society, technology and their applications.
Hence the History of Physics Department is,
- In the year 1970 Physics department was established.
- In the year 1991 three subjects of equal importance was introduced.
- In the year 2005-06 semester system was introduced by KUD.
- At present this college is affiliated to Rani Channamma University, Belagavi, since 2010.
- In the year 2020-21 CBCS (Choice Based Credit System) is introduced.
- In the year 2021-22 NEP ( National Education Policy ) is introduced.
Ø The aim of the Physics department is spreading science education with physics as one of the main subject at undergraduate level. Since its inception, continuous efforts have been made to provide quality education to rural students.
- Presently our department has five qualified and well experienced teaching staff members and One menial staff. Dr. P. K Kalaghatkar is the present Head of the Department who was the BOS Member of Rani Channamma University, Belagavi.

MISSION:
“To provide leadership in pursuit of knowledge in basic and applied physics through quality interdisciplinary teaching, projects, extension activities and consultancy services to improve welfare of youth”.
OBJECTIVES:
- To provide a broad spectrum of Physics to the students.
- Emphasize the role of Physics in life, Scientific methodology and other disciplines.
- Develop the ability of the students to conduct, observe, analyze and report an experiment.
- Provide the students with the currently modern techniques in physics.
OUTCOME:
- To enhance the students conceptual understanding and scientific reasoning skills, problem solving skills.
- Students should develop familiarity with a range of experimental methods in order to design, perform, document and analyze advanced experiments in Physics and programming techniques, basic algorithms and numerical methods.
- Organized knowledge of the major branches of physics, which includes ability to distinguish between classical, quantum and relativistic regimes.
- Provoking Professional ethics and Responsibilities in delivering their duties.
- Students will be aware of the various job opportunities available in Private, Public and Government Sectors.
