DEPARTMENT OF POLITICAL SCIENCE
ABOUT US: -
The Political Science Department was established in June 1968. It was started as one of the minor subjects along with History as the major subject since 1991-92. Later it is being taught as a subject of equal importance along with History, Economics and Sociology. The semester system is being introduced by Karnataka University, Dharwad from 2005. 2010-11 onwards College Affiliated to Rani Channamma University, Belagavi. CBCS was introduced by Rani Channamma University, Belagavi in the year 2020-21 for B.A. first semester. From the year 2021-22, NEP was introduced by Rani Channamma University, Belagavi for B.A. first semester students.

MISSION
“To promote excellence in the teaching, research and publication in political science, public administration, public policy, international relations, in the generation and dissemination of knowledge of our national and international political policy and administrative environments”
OBJECTIVES:-
- To understand the fundamental importance of political science.
- To develop knowledge of political movements, structures and institutions.
- Simplify the Political concepts and removing the hindrances in the way of understanding the Political Science
- Develop skills necessary to engage effectively in the study and practice of politics and to become fully realized citizens, thinkers and professionals.
- To develop the ability to make connections between theory and practice, between global and local political events.
OUTCOMES:-
- Students will gain knowledge about constitution and functioning of judiciary system of different countries.
- Able to cope up with contemporary challenges and issues of democracy and realize present world political system.
- Students will come to know about role and impact of politics on society and other fields.
- Get information about different political thoughts and find solutions to political problems.
- Get knowledge about the administration and functioning of local, state, central government.
- Students can pursue higher education and are motivated to face civil services examination.
- Students are able deliver better service to rural community.
