Instituional Social Responsibility
The college since its establishment has been a co-education institution. It has and is always sensitive and empathetic towards social problems pertaining to the students taking admission to the college. The college has committees for safety and security of students in the campus. Several measures have been adopted to promote gender equity in the campus. On the Orientation Day, the Principal and the IQAC Co-ordinator inform the students on the various events and committees related to the safety and security. The entire campus is under CCTV surveillance and is monitored regularly. As the college promotes gender equity, the discipline committee constituted by the Principal and the IQAC supervises and maintains discipline across the campus. The college has installed suggestion and complaint boxes through which students can suggest and register their complaints.
The curricular aspect in promoting gender equity also plays an important role. This establishes awareness among the faculties and the students. The college sees to it that both boys and girls take equal participation in curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular activities. Enrolment in NCC, NSS and YRC units of the college is a testament of gender equity. The college also witnesses ample number of participation from both the genders in sporting events. Under the IQAC initiative and in association with Women Empowerment Cell, International Women’s Day is celebrated by organising various co-curricular events. In addition to this, the college seriously takes note of maintaining discipline across the campus through various committees and cells like Prevention of Sexual Harassment Cell and Anti – Ragging Cell.
Safety and Security
Safety and Security of the girl students, female faculties and support staff is of paramount importance to the college. To ensure safety, the college has a fortified campus. CCTVs are strategically installed around the campus, gate keepers are posted to ensure safe movement. Emergency exits and Fire extinguishers are placed accordingly. ID Cards are issued to all the faculties and students. Separate washroom facility for men and women is provided. The college also has a ladies room which caters to their health and hygiene. A
separate security arrangement is provided in women’s hostel. The warden is responsible for safety and security of the students in women’s hostel.
Counselling
At the time of admission, students are individually counselled by the admission committee regarding the scope of programmes offered by the college. Counselling for the students at regular intervals and whenever required is facilitated by mentor- mentee system. This supports in not only keeping the academic progress but also the well being of the students confidentially. Women Empowerment Cell organises personal health and hygiene awareness program and counselling for girls students.
Social Contribution
- Contributed in 22-10-2019 Rs. 1,55,657 and 04-04-2020 Rs. 2,07,177 = 3,62,834 to the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund.
- 1000 masks are Distributed in covid -19 pandemic.
- NSS volunteers distributed food kit and Cloths in flood affected villages.
- NCC Cadets served as Covid Warriors.
- Social activities like Tree Plantation, Beti Bachao Beti Padao Abhiyana, Blood Donation Camps and Health Check-Up Camps.
