DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS

ABOUT US:

The Mathematics Department has been functioning since 1970 in this college. The subject Mathematics was being taught as a Major / Minor subject at the beginning. Later on it is being taught as an optional subject under the modified curriculum of Rani Channamma University Belgavi   and the semester system is being introduced .At present, this Department offering B.Sc (MATHEMATICS) NEP-2020 degree course under UG program affiliated to Rani Channamma University Belgavi.

Department continuously reviews and monitors the curriculum of its academic programs. Department has striven to set high standards of teaching. The Department has succeeded in this Endeavour and over the years, it has produced qualified Mathematicians to provide leadership in Educational Institutions. Graduates of this Department are distinctively placed in various reputed institutions and organizations. It has been the cherished goal of the Department to inculcate in the students a desire to excel, to demonstrate originality and to develop a sense of responsibility towards the society.

MISSION:

The Mathematics Department provides a range of programs of study in Mathematics, including:

  • Courses, curriculum, and instructional practices that support effective student learning;
  • A range of courses and curriculum relevant to particular focus areas, such as courses for:
  • Ctudents who are undergraduate and graduate Mathematics or Statistics majors,
  • Students enrolled in Science and Engineering programs,
  • Students enrolled in the Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, and a core set of mathematics courses and curriculum for future teachers.
