Establishment of ICT-Enabled Mathematics Laboratory for Degree Students
Introduction
In line with the institution's commitment to quality education, digital transformation, and outcome-based learning, the Department of Mathematics has established a well-equipped Mathematics Laboratory to provide practical exposure to degree students. The laboratory has been developed to complement classroom teaching with technology-assisted learning, enabling students to understand mathematical concepts through computational methods and software-based applications.
Need for Establishment
Traditional classroom instruction in mathematics primarily focuses on theoretical concepts. However, modern higher education emphasizes experiential learning, computational thinking, and digital competency. The establishment of the Mathematics Laboratory addresses these needs by:
- Integrating ICT into mathematics education.
- Providing opportunities for practical application of mathematical concepts.
- Developing computational and analytical skills among students.
- Supporting interdisciplinary learning involving statistics, data analysis, and numerical computation.
- Preparing students for higher education, research, and employment in technology-driven environments
